A Christmas Prayer

Hi Friends:

This Christmas I will be thinking and praying for those who have lost loved ones this year. I see their faces in my heart and I wonder how they will make it through this season without those that they miss. I hope that you’ll join me in saying a prayer for them. I also hope that you’ll hug your family members a little tighter and tell them how much you love them.

And to go from once being homeless to this is a huge deal. So with that, I’ll also be thinking and praying for those who have lost their homes and pray that they find a special kind of peace and an even better place to live.

I will also pray that all of us come to rely on the peace that passes all understanding and that we tell our hearts to rejoice in the midst of a trial or hardship. It’s so easy for our hearts to go down the path of anger and let that take root and spread like wildfire. But what I am still learning is that I have to choose to remember that I am loved by the one who came to die for our sins and who we celebrate this season. I need a reminder of that so that no one person can stake a claim in my mind and wreak havoc. That peace is not something that I have earned but something that’s been freely given to me and that I have accepted.

I love to write. I love fast action-packed stories that make people laugh, cry and forget. But I also love to make up worlds and characters that help others get to a place of healing in their lives. Some of you have shared your stories with me and I am so grateful and honored. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that. It keeps me going. I hope that you’ll continue to do so. But more importantly, my prayer for you is that you grab on to a joy beyond measure in this holiday season; that love will overtake you and wipe away the tears.

I hope that you have a wonderful Christmas and a glorious New Year with your family and friends.
