About the Author

Leonardo Ramirez is an American of Puerto Rican descent and an award-winning screenwriter, author, and voiceover actor known for writing science fiction fueled by hope and imaginative fantasy rooted in the human experience. His work has placed with Stage 32’s New Voices in Animation, ScreenCraft Animation and Family, Barnstorm, the Inroads Fellowship, the Nashville Film Festival, and The Red List, where his short screenplay Homeless ranked #1 for Fantasy Shorts, also earning international honors including Best Concept Screenplay at the Tokyo Film and Screenplay Awards and a win at the Milan Film Festival.

As a martial artist, Leonardo has a 4th-degree black belt in Karate and a brown belt in American Bushido Kenjutsu, the study of the katana or samurai sword fighting. Guided by a belief in story as a force that can uplift, heal, and broaden horizons, Leonardo’s work balances awe, action, and world-building with deeply personal, character-driven themes. He lives in a suburb of Nashville, Tennessee, with his wife Kristen and their daughter Mackenzy, and considers his most important calling to be that of a devoted husband and father.
